Welcome Baby Caden!

Caden Sterling Fisher was born on Monday August 21, 2006 at 9:38 a.m. He weighed 8 lbs 2 oz., and was 20.5" long. The total time for labor and delivery was about 6 hours, and all went smoothly despite the late arrival of the anesthesiologist, but his cheerful disposition made up for that. Dr. Snyder delivered baby Caden, and Nurse Allison (from Scotland, complete with a Scottish accent) was very helpful. Mom and baby are doing fine. So far he is a good sleeper and eater (which is about all he does right now besides cry and look around every now and then).

Green Eggs & Ham

Now that Mom is a lot more busy with the new baby, Dad has spent a lot of quality time keeping big sister Audrey out of the way. Some of our activities have included eating donuts at the park while watching ducks on a Saturday morning, running errands for mom, and bedtime story routines and rituals. The Dr. Seuss books are becoming popular, especially "The Cat in the Hat," "Go Dog Go," and yes, none other than the bestseller, "Green Eggs and Ham."

How cool would it be to be Sam I Am and get others to eat green eggs and ham? Well, Audrey didn't put up much of a fuss; she was ecstatic about the idea. So I told her when Saturday arrived, we would make green eggs and ham. Although Audrey doesn't look that excited in the picture below, she gobbled them right up, and gladly exclaimed, "I do like green eggs and ham!" I tried them too and I have to admit, for some reason they were better than normal ham and eggs. Despite the colorful side effects, I don't think we'll ever go back!
