8 months old today!
I can't believe how fast Wesley is growing. Slow down! I just want to freeze him right now at this age- it's one of my favorites. He's mastered sitting up now and not crawling, so life isn't too crazy yet. I am thoroughly enjoying my little boy. He's so happy and I just love watching his face. It never gets old and my other kids agree. I love watching them light up when they say hi to him and play. It's nice having older to siblings to help entertain him. They do get overly excited however and I'm sure they are tired of me saying, "Ok that's enough- give him some space- be soft- get off of him now!" Luckily he's a tough kid to handle so much love:) Here's a cute moment I caught of the two happy brothers playing ball. (I don't know why the video is so blurry- sorry)

Wesley's new favorite
The Munchkin Fresh Food Feeder. It can be messy and a pain to clean, but it sure is fun for babies. Wesley loves bananas and peaches in it. It's great to give him after his meal for a little treat and it keeps him entertained in his highchair forever! It will be great to put frozen fruit in it when his teeth start cutting through too. Here's Wesley trying it out with bananas, I think.
He's Four!
Last Saturday Caden turned 4 yrs old! The day started with fresh donuts for breakfast (a favorite of his) then in the afternoon we took him to Boomers in Vista. It was funny, on the way to the place, Ethan says, "Caden you get to go on anything you want because your FREE on your birthday!" Caden says, "No dad, I'm not free, I'm FOUR on my birthday." We busted up laughing. Caden has a hard time saying his "th's" and instead pronounces it "fr". Understandable mistake in his mind:)
Caden was so excited to go on the go-karts for the first time with Ethan and started off the first lap flying around the corners at top speed with Ethan driving (Ethan was a little too excited). So I watch Caden flying by getting jiggled to death with a look of terror on his face- so classic. It took Ethan a minute to figure out he needed to slow down just a tad and then Caden was all smiles the rest of the ride. I then took him on the bumper boats which I don't think I'll do again because I ended up looking like a drowned rat the rest of the day. Lets just say there were a lot of other punk kids on the boats who thought I was an easy target:) We played games in the arcade, let Caden play an express round of mini golf then played in this cool climbing/tube structure called Kidopolis. It's like a fast food playland but 10 times bigger! I'm surprised the kids didn't get lost in there. They loved it.
For dinner, we let Caden pick and he chose Denny's of all places. He really wanted that baseball pancake for dinner- why not? We ended the meal sharing a big banana split dessert. After, we came home and opened presents of which his favorites included a remote control convertible, a marble run, water rockets and Fisher Price Trio blocks. The following day we had a small party with family and cousins at my in-laws with birthday cake and all. He had a great birthday and we are so proud of the big boy Caden is becoming so fast.

Spring Update
Spring is here- Yay! Ethan just finished his busy season so I have my sweet husband back! The weather is warming up, except for an occasional rain storm, Wesley is growing and getting cuter everytime I blink, and life is wonderful. Here are some recent pictures I've been wanting to post so here they are starting with Easter egg dying festivities. I love in the first one how candid Ethan and Caden were as Audrey brought up her first egg out of it's color bath. The rest are of Wesley at 3 months- wow how time flies. He's really filling out and growing some very squeezable thighs:) He is so different now compared to when he was a helpless little newborn. He smiles so easily and loves to interact and communicate with us in coos and gurgles. Still awaiting the big laughing milestone but that's coming soon. He is still a great baby. He never got colic- whew! He can be a fussy nurser because he is a bit sensitive to any air he swallows. And though he can really belt out a good scream/cry, he is pretty easy to soothe and is generally very happy and easy going. He wakes up about 2 times at night to eat then goes right back to sleep, so most days I'm pretty rested. He seems to be a little more restless though as he's getting strong and breaking out of his swaddle or needing to be re-plugged with his binkie at night. He is still in our room so I can help him quickly but we are getting ready to put him in his own room- I'm just dragging my feet because it's so convenient to have him close. However, I also want our room back so I have very mixed feelings. Anyway, here are the pics and check out the last few that are of Caden at this age to see how similar the boys look!

Caden's New Do
Caden has had the same hair style for pretty much most of his life so I got adventurous last week and decided to buzz it to give him a new look. Here he is- I think it makes him look very grown up. I do miss his cute longer blonde hair, but it grows fast. Who knows- maybe I'll keep it for a while. He seems to like it:) Here's the before:
And here's after- well at least the next day:

Wesley at 2 months
Our little boy is growing so fast and cuter every day! At his 2 month appointment he weighed in at 10 lbs 9 oz. and grew 2.5 inches! We are really enjoying him and love his smiles and coos. Audrey and Caden still think he is the neatest thing in our home. The novelty has still not worn off:) I love watching them act really sweet around him. We had Wesley blessed last Sunday and Ethan gave another beautiful blessing. I bought his little outfit on Ebay for a bargain- $5! It was a little blousy on him but it worked, and he's cute in anything I think:) I just love this boy!

The Big 7
Happy Birthday to our little grown up Audrey! She turned 7 on the 20th and I can't believe how old she's getting! She had a fun birthday which started the night before when Ethan took her to the dollar store for a shopping spree. She could pick out 7 things of her choice. I think this might be a new tradition. She loved it and came home with seven fun treasures. On her actual day Ethan made her breakfast in bed, another family tradition- pink blueberry pancakes with syrup. For lunch I took Audrey and her best friend Miriam to lunch at McDonalds for happy meals then back to our house for a play date. Later that afternoon we had a big extended family party for her. Amy and Rich kindly brought down their blow up "jumpy" from Temecula for the cousins to play in. Leah and her family were in attendance as well as both sets of grandparents. What a blessing to have so many family members living close by for these occasions! The kids got their bounces out then we had spaghetti and meatballs (Audrey's choice) and pizza for dinner. After opening one too many presents, Audrey blew out the candles on her chocolate frosted chocolate, chocolate chip cake. Got milk? I tried out a new recipe for this fabulous and easy cake. It was a hit! Audrey got some new equipment for her Zhu Zhu pet to run around in, a new Ariel barbie, shoes, paper dolls, fun girlie crafty stuff, a stencil kit and a darling tutu skirt that Grandma Fisher made. It was a happy day. We love you Audrey!

The Lost Tooth!
The day has finally come after what seemed like months- Audrey lost her first tooth! We were all very excited. Audrey's tooth had been hanging by a thread and I wanted to just yank it out but she wouldn't let me go near it. Also her big tooth was just about halfway grown in behind it as you can see from the picture. She was a little afraid and didn't know what to expect, naturally. On Friday afternoon her tooth kept doing a 180 driving her nuts so I knew the time was close. As she took her first bite of dinner that night she suddenly looked at me with surprise and a little fear in her eyes and said "It's not there!". I told her to spit out her bite and out fell her little tooth. She then had this mixed look of excitement and panic not knowing what to do next. I burst into an excited "Yay!" followed by a little happy dance in which she joined me in doing. Now she is happy to have joined the lost teeth club along with her friends and now brushing her teeth isn't quite a battle and those teeth next to the previous loose one will no longer be neglected. Now we look forward to the next one, or do we...

Baby Announcement
Thursday, January 07, 2010
Welcome home baby Wesley!
We are happy the announce the arrival of the newest member of our family- Wesley Stephen Fisher. He was born January 3rd, 2010 at 4:47am weighing in at 7lbs 5oz and 20" long and just as perfect and healthy as can be. Ethan and I had a hard time nailing down a name and had a few choices ready for when he was born but he did remain nameless for a few hours. We decided on Wesley because we really liked the name and Stephen is after my wonderful dad whom we admire very much. We almost went with Timothy only because Caden decided long ago that his name was Baby Timmy and the kids would call him that in the womb. In fact we almost catch ourselves calling him that now! But in the end, Wesley won and it fits him.
For those wanting the labor details, they are as follows: I went to bed around 11:45 (should have been earlier) and just as I was about to fall asleep after midnight I felt a little gush come out and lo and behold, my water had started breaking. I called my mom and she came right over after just getting home from Utah 2 hours previous but she was ready! By the way, when I said goodnight to Audrey that night she said "Mom, I think your going to have your baby tonight." She must have had a little intuition. So we got to the hospital around 1:15 and I was having some good strong contractions along the way. As I got set up in the bed I was dilated to a 4 and told them I'd like the epidural right away. That was a little ordeal in itself. I had to get it in 3 different stages because the anesthesiologist had an emergency (umbilical cord prolapse) to run to just after he got the tube in my back and had to leave for about 45 min. He came back and injected something in the tube that would take the edge off and last an hour- helped a little but still not the complete numbness I was greatly hoping for. At last he came back and gave me the full thing and I finally got relief from all pain- whew! Although not much longer after that, I was fully dialated and ready to push. After 15 min of pushing, out came our baby boy! My labor ended up being about 4 1/2 hours total- not bad. My waist down was totally numb for quite a while since I got the epidural so late so that was a bit annoying. I'm so grateful that Wesley was born so healthy and that my labor went very smoothly and without complication. We were very blessed! Recovery is going well and other than not getting much sleep, I'm thankful Ethan is home this week to help out at home and with the kids allowing me to get a few naps in. He is a life saver! I've also had many wonderful meals brought in. I'm so grateful for the Relief Society and their efforts to help and serve us.
