Beautiful Coronado

One of the joys of living in San Diego is having so many cool things to do outdoors. Something Ethan and I have talked about doing for some time is biking around Coronado island and we finally did it. After a long grueling busy season, Ethan took some time off and we enjoyed the day together enjoying San Diego at it's finest. The weather could not have been more perfect! My mom took the kids for the day while we drove down across the bridge, parked, and got on our bikes to explore the island (technically it's a peninsula). The ride was all flat (my kind of bike ride) and we made a big loop going all the way down past silver strand beach then back around the bay side. That beach is amazing! We'll have to visit again soon with the kids for a beach day. After riding up a good appetite we stopped at a little deli in town for sandwiches then hopped back on our bikes to ride along the beach and saw some amazing and cute homes. After we got back to the car Ethan and I drove to a spot where we could throw a fishing line into the water near the ferry dock. Ethan didn't catch anything but it was still beautiful to sit there staring across the water at the city sky line. Ethan usually stares out his window from work everyday at Coronado with much envy wishing he was there and not at his desk, so that was fun for him to be at his day dreaming spot in person! What a happy day.

The Museum of Making Music

During spring break the kids and I were invited to go with Grandma and Grandpa Fisher to the Carlsbad Museum of Making Music. It was a pretty cool place I must say. As you walk through several rooms, you take a journey through a century of instruments (over 400) and innovations that show you how American music has become what it is today. They also have many audio and video clips you can sample by pushing a button. The kids favorite room was the interactive area where you can put headphones on and play on a variety of hands-on instruments. The drums were a favorite for them both.
Check out these crazy guitars!

One other exciting thing I have to add that happened during spring break was that Caden got potty trained! It all clicked for him halfway through the first day and then it was a piece of cake! He totally took initiative and would go all by himself to the bathroom. He's been waking up dry and has only had 2 accidents in 2 weeks. He was scared to poop for a while but is finally getting over that. I love not changing diapers anymore! Well for now at least. Someday I hope to again just not sure when:)
Silly Caden- he looks so cute wearing his new underware.

Jumpitz video shoot

Yesterday Audrey and Caden had a neat opportunity to go to a video shooting with the Jumpitz at a park in Carmel Valley thanks to our friend Adam aka Jake Jumpitz. They and several other children were filmed with the group doing different kinds of jumping activities in a "Jump into Spring" theme. My kids were so excited to be there with their favorite stars! I think the video clip will be on their website eventually and we're so excited to see how it turns out! Caden especially enjoyed the trampoline and bouncy balls. Audrey was a great little hopper too. Here are a few clips and pictures of the afternoon!

Look at that smile. He was having a ball- Ha!

Here's the whole group

The kids with Jake and Nathan
If you have young kids, you should check this group out. They are so much fun, very talented and the music is great. My kids love their DVD Celebrate Animals. I think you can get it at Borders. Their website has all sorts of cool stuff too.
