She picked out a new dress herself which has little apples on it- how appropriate for school- and with a new backpack and lunchbox, was ready to go! The report at the end of the day was good and she seemed to have a fun day. However as dinnertime approached, she started worrying about the next day and worked herself up to full on tears- not wanting to go back and wishing she could stay home with me. I wasn't surprised knowing Audrey. But after working through some concerns and me trying to stay positive about school she was able to bring herself out of her depths of despair and started feeling better and more confident to return tomorrow. I know the next week or two will be a transition for her and she'll need time to work through her anxieties but I'm sure she'll pull out of it and be a happy going school girl again.
And now for the other exciting news.... I'm having a BOY! I guessed wrong- totally thought it was a girl but hey what do I know? Ethan was really hoping for a boy so when the technician told us he let out a big hurray! I'm excited Caden will have a little brother to bum around with and share a room with someday. Ethan's already dreaming of more campouts and fishing trips. Audrey was hoping for a sister, of course, but is ok with the outcome. Maybe next time right? :)Until then, we girls will be outnumbered. Oh boy!
And hey- Caden turns 3 tomorrow! Can't believe it.
