Santee Lakes Outing

Well, school's out for the summer and Ethan has some time off so here's some things we've been up to. On Friday we went to Santee Lakes and to those of you San Diegans, I recommend going there for a fun outing with the kids especially if you like fishing or camping. It's not too far away and there are 7 little man-made lakes lined up that are stocked with fish and you just pay a day permit and you don't need a license! There are also a couple playgrounds, lots of places to ride bikes and a little splash area if you go when it's hot, which it normally is unlike when we went during June gloom. You can also rent pedal boats and canoes and even camp there! We enjoyed a nice picnic there, played on the playground, fished and rented a pedal boat. Here are some pictures of our day:

We unfortunately didn't catch fish but had fun trying! I actually did get a couple bites though.

The kids had more fun playing with the worms- on your marks, get set, GO!
The best was when the kids got the idea to decorate this little tree with the worms- Haha!

Here we are in the peddle boat
This was the splash area. The kids really wanted to try it so they put their suits on, stepped outside the car, then changed their mind. It was cold!

What a fun day! I've been there in the past, but it's been a long time. Thanks for the reminder!
